Membership site: GA4, Tag Manager and Meta Pixel set up and revenue tracking fixed
A membership website was overcounting purchases in Meta and showing wrong revenue in GA4. We rebuilt tracking in Tag Manager, configured Google Ads conversions and custom sign-up events, and traced the duplicate Meta purchases to a third-party Conversions API integration.

The brief
Revenue in GA4 did not match the store, Meta reported more purchases than had happened, and nobody knew which of several plugins was firing what.
What we did
- Implemented GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel from one container so there is a single source of truth.
- Fixed revenue tracking in GA4 and the Pixel and configured Google Ads conversions for Add to Cart, Begin Checkout and Purchase, plus custom sign-up tracking.
- Investigated duplicate Meta Purchase events and identified a separate Conversions API integration as the cause of the overcounting.
- Reviewed WordPress, WPCode, Meta’s Event Setup Tool and the other integrations so Tag Manager remained the primary, accurate source.
Outcome
Purchase and revenue numbers now agree across GA4, Google Ads and Meta, so ad budgets are optimised on real data.
